Alan Crellin has a long and varied work experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Alan most recently served as the Managing Director of Global Accident, Health & Life Reinsurance at Trawick International since October 2022. Prior to that, they worked for Howden Specialty Limited and RKH Specialty as the Director of Business Development & Product Innovation - Accident & Health from December 2017 to November 2022, and as the Director of Accident & Health from December 2017 to October 2020, respectively.
Before joining Howden and RKH Specialty, Alan held the position of Director at Price Forbes & Partners from September 2014 to December 2017. Alan also founded and served as the CEO of Alan James Consulting Limited from August 2012 to September 2014, where they focused on producing and servicing Accident & Health insurance and reinsurance globally and introduced innovative concepts in the prevention and wellness area of medical and workers compensation underwriting.
Prior to their consultancy work, Alan worked as an Executive Consultant from January 2012 to September 2014, where they provided consulting services to MGA's and Large Reinsurance Carriers in the US and London Insurance Market. Alan implemented a new Medical Expense Gap cover during this role that became available to employer groups and insurance agencies.
Alan's earlier experience includes working as a Consultant for Accident and Health Insurance and Reinsurance from October 2006 to May 2012, as well as holding the position of Director - Accident and Health at Aon from March 1998 to November 2006. Before joining Aon, they worked at Lambert Fenchurch UK Group Limited as the Director of Reinsurance from April 1995 to March 1998 and at Windsor Insurance Brokers as the Director of Reinsurance from October 1991 to March 1995.
Throughout their career, Alan has gained extensive knowledge and expertise in various aspects of Accident and Health insurance and reinsurance, including medical stop loss, direct business from the USA, and international markets such as Israel, SE Asia, and Latin America.
