Sam Gilliland is an advisor at Traxo and a former executive at Sabre Corporation. Sam has also held leadership positions at Dimensional Fund Advisors and Siris Capital Group.
Gilliland began their career in 1988 as a software engineer at Sabre Corporation. Sam was promoted to EVP / CMO in 2002 and then to Chairman & CEO in 2003. Sam served in this role for ten years, during which time they oversaw the company's growth and expansion.
In 2013, Gilliland left Sabre Corporation to join Siris Capital Group as an executive partner. Sam helped the private equity firm identify, validate, and manage investment opportunities. Sam also served as an inside director representing Siris with its acquisition of Digital River, Inc.
In 2016, Gilliland joined Dimensional Fund Advisors as a senior advisor. Sam provided leadership and operating guidance for the global investment firm, which had approximately $600 billion under management. Sam worked across the entire firm, including human resources, technology, investment operations, finance and accounting, and sales, to improve operations and scale the firm through its rapid growth.
Gilliland is currently an advisor at Traxo.
Sam Gilliland's educational career includes a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas - School of Engineering.
