Derek Kirchner

Derek Kirchner is a seasoned professional in the energy sector with extensive experience in demand response and energy efficiency programs. Currently serving as Consulting Lead and Senior Consultant at TRC Companies, Inc. since May 2021, Derek Kirchner specializes in Digital Grid Solutions, particularly in Distributed Energy Resources (DER) and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS) implementation. Prior roles include Director of Demand Response at Consumers Energy and various positions at DTE Energy, including Regional Manager and Principal Supervisor for Demand Response, as well as Principal Program Advisor for DTE Electric Company. Derek Kirchner holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy.
