Joy Hawthorne, CPRP, is an experienced professional in the field of parks, recreation, and facilities management. Currently serving as the Deputy Director of Parks, Recreation and Facilities for St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners since April 2022, Joy previously held multiple roles within the City of Lauderhill, including Recreation Leader since July 2001. Additional experience includes positions such as Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in the City of Opa-locka and various supervisory and managerial roles in the City of Plantation. Joy has also worked as a Recreation Worker Clerical for the City of Fort Lauderdale and provided educational support for Broward County Public Schools. Joy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizational Management from Albizu University and a Master of Arts in Human Services from Southeastern University.
