Water Quality Specialist at Treasury, Taxation, and Vehicles

Lesley Rigney serves as a Water Quality Specialist for the Johnson County, KS Government since June 2023. Previously, Lesley held the position of District Manager and Watershed Coordinator at the Miami County Conservation District from April 2014 to May 2022, where efforts focused on rebuilding the organization and securing funding through strengthened relationships with stakeholders. As an Environmental Planner III at the Mid-America Regional Council from January 2012 to May 2014, Lesley facilitated multiple water resource projects and communicated complex technical information to the public. Additionally, as a self-employed Project Manager from September 2008 to June 2012, Lesley advanced a significant bi-state water quality initiative. Earlier experience includes managing human service investments for the City of Lawrence as a Management Analyst from March 2005 to September 2008. Educational credentials include a Master's Degree in Public Administration with a focus on Public Policy and a Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, and Cultural Studies from the University of Kansas.
