Shelby Colburn

Shelby Colburn is an accomplished media professional with extensive experience in journalism and public relations. Currently serving as the Public Information Officer for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office since February 2021, Shelby previously worked as a Multi-Media Journalist for First Coast News from January 2015 to February 2021, and held various roles including Broadcast News Producer at THV 11 and Broadcast Producer at KUSA-TV. Early career experiences include being a Videographer/Co-Host for Wildcat Watch and a Production Intern at Wide Awake Films. Shelby also contributed to the Kansas State University broadcast news organization, Manhattan Matters, and was involved in creative projects such as short films. Education includes a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Political Science, and French from Kansas State University, complemented by studies at Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour.
