Germán Espín Rearte has extensive work experience in various roles related to data science, big data analytics, and information systems architecture. Germán currently holds the position of CTO at the R&D/AI & Big Data Business Unit in Treelogic. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Data Unit at TOKIOTA, where they led the company's strategy in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Germán was also responsible for providing support to the business and exercising technical leadership in the team. Before joining TOKIOTA, Germán was the Head of Data Science & Big Data Analytics at Innofis|CREALOGIX, where they defined the strategic lines of the organization in the fintech and big data analytics fields. Germán has also worked as the Chief Data Architect in GENCAT-CTTI and as an IT Project/Services Management Professor in Barcelona Activa. Germán has experience in founding and managing a cooperative focused on information systems engineering and data analysis. Germán has also held positions at everis and T-Systems, and they have taught advanced statistics at ESADE/UPC-CEUS Academy.
Germán Espín Rearte has a diverse and comprehensive education history. Germán began their studies in 2000 at the Facultad de Informática de Barcelona, Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña, where they obtained an MSc in Computer Science. During this program, they specialized in "Ing. de Soft. y Sist. de Información" and "Gestión y Explotación de la información".
In 2005, Germán participated in the Erasmus program and studied at the Ecole d’Ingénieurs des Technologies de l’Information et du Management, where they earned another MSc in Computer Science.

Looking to expand their knowledge further, Germán pursued another MSc in 2015, this time in Big Data Manageme and Analytics at BARCELONATECH, Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Germán also obtained a PgC in Machine Learning from Stanford University in 2016.
