David Simpson

David Simpson currently serves as the Executive Director of Smith-Gilbert Gardens under the City of Kennesaw, focusing on managing a 17-acre public garden. With a background in urban forestry, David served as Planting Director at Trees Atlanta, where responsibilities included overseeing the planting and maintenance of over 6,000 trees yearly across 14 municipalities. David also held various roles related to community forestry and horticulture, including NeighborWoods Manager and Education Program Coordinator. Previous positions include Director of Grounds at the Historic Columbia Foundation and Graduate Assistant at Clemson University. David holds a Master of Science in Plant & Environmental Sciences from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Presbyterian College.
