Simon Preston

Simon Preston is an accomplished finance professional currently serving as the Director of Finance at the Translational Research Institute Australia since June 2022. With extensive experience in financial management consulting at BDO in Australia, Simon has supported finance functions across various sectors, including public, private, and not-for-profit organizations. Previously, as Finance Director for Australasia at Fircroft, Simon was responsible for a significant regional turnover in the oil and gas and mining sectors. Simon's earlier roles include Head of Group Finance at Virgin Care Limited, where leadership was provided during a period of rapid growth, and Manager in Assurance Services at Ernst & Young, successfully managing large-scale audit engagements. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from the University of York and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and ICAEW.
