Curtis Hartenstine is an experienced environmental professional with a strong focus on water quality management and wildfire mitigation. Currently serving as the Wildfire Mitigation Program Manager at Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc., Curtis develops and assesses strategies for wildfire risk reduction. Previous roles include Water Quality Department Manager at Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District and Southern Ute Indian Tribe, where significant achievements included the development of programs addressing water quality issues and receiving EPA approval for Tribal Water Quality standards. Curtis has also served as a Non-Point Source Pollution Control Grant Administrator for the State of Colorado and River Watch Program Coordinator for Colorado Watershed Assembly, overseeing volunteer-led water quality monitoring programs. Curtis holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science with a Water Quality Specialization from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor's degree in Forest Ecology from Juniata College, along with experience as a Community Forestry Volunteer with the Peace Corps.
