Joost Flach, PhD

Joost Flach, PhD has been working in the field of clinical research since 2016. Joost began their career as a Business Development Intern at CR2O, before taking on the role of Clinical Research Scientist with a focus on medical writing and microbiota research with Pro- and Prebiotics. In 2018, they co-founded Triall and served as the Head of Operations and Head of Clinical Affairs. At Triall, their mission was to enable a future of smarter, safer, and more-efficient clinical trials, with optimized oversight and full auditability of clinical documents, data and processes.

Joost Flach, PhD has an extensive education history. Joost obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychobiology from the University of Amsterdam in 2013, followed by a Master's degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences from the same university in 2016. Joost then attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2014 to 2016 for Management, Policy Analysis and Entrepreneurship in the Health and Life Sciences. Joost completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microbiota R&D from VU Amsterdam in 2020. In addition to their academic qualifications, Joost has obtained certifications in Medical Writing from Physislearning academy in 2019, Good Clinical Practice from NIDA Clinical Trials Network in 2018, and Good Clinical Practice from TRREE in 2016.
