Phil Spencer

Phil Spencer possesses extensive experience in newspaper production and content creation support, currently serving as the Director of Newspaper Production and Content Creation Support at Tribune Publishing since May 2010. In this role, Phil oversees support staff for various production systems, ensuring reliability and managing technology projects across multiple Tribune newspapers. Prior to this, Phil held several key positions at both Tribune Company and Orlando Sentinel, including Advertising Support Manager and Applications Division Manager, where responsibilities included managing technical teams and developing strategic initiatives across departments. Early career experience at Harris Corporation as a Field Engineer involved installing computer systems in newspapers. Phil earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems and Computer Science from Florida State University, graduating in 1984.
