Maria S. has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Maria started their career at Challenger Motor Freight Inc, where they worked as a Customer Accounts Manager from May 2006 to November 2007, before being promoted to an Inside Sales Representative until November 2008. Maria then joined L. Simard Transport as a Public Warehouse Supervisor and Occupational First Aid Attendant Level 2 in December 2008. During their time there, they implemented company procedure manuals for 20 warehouse clients and developed safety procedures for 90 employees. In May 2010, they were promoted to Office Supervisor and Occupational First Aid Attendant Level 2, where they managed a satellite office operation, mentored a team of 70+ truck drivers and 2 office employees, and facilitated contract growth. Maria left L. Simard Transport in April 2015 to join Back in Motion Rehab Inc. as an Office Coordinator and Health & Safety Lead. Maria later became a Resource Room Coordinator at WorkBC on a contract basis before being promoted to a Health & Safety Lead, Office Coordinator, and Employment Resource Specialist. In August 2018, Maria joined TricorBraun as an Operations Services Representative and was later promoted to a Logistics Analyst in March 2022.

Maria S. has a diverse education history. In 1999 to 2001, they attended RIHSC and obtained a degree in Hospitality & Tourism and Applied Business Technology. From 2004 to 2005, Maria studied at Sprott-Shaw Community College, where they earned a degree in Administrative Assistant & Legal Secretary with a focus on Legal Studies, General. Maria then went on to pursue further education at St. John Ambulance from 2009 to 2012, where they achieved a certification in Occupational First Aid Attendant - Level 2. Maria also attended Douglas College in 2018, focusing on Career Development Practice. In addition to their formal education, Maria has obtained various certifications from different institutions, including CPR Level C with AED from St. John Ambulance BC/Yukon, Emergency Social Services Site Management from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and De-Escalating Potentially Violent Situations from the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute Inc. Among their certifications, Maria has also earned a Certificate of Attendance from The 39th BC Crime Prevention Association's Annual Training Symposium.
