James M. O'Brien, PE, PMP has extensive work experience in the field of engineering, specifically in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems. James M. is currently the Director of Engineering at Trident Maritime Systems, where they lead and manages the engineering and design development of HVAC&R and Firefighting systems for ships. Prior to this role, James served as the Principal Marine Engineer at CACI International Inc, the Advisor Naval/Marine HVAC Engineer at CSRA Inc, and the Supervisory Marine Engineer at The Columbia Group. James M. also held various positions at Gibbs & Cox, A Leidos Company, including Machinery Department Manager, Assistant Machinery Department Manager, and Senior HVAC Engineer. Earlier in their career, James worked at General Dynamics Electric Boat as a Thermal Analysis and HVAC Engineer, at Roper Scientific Inc. as an Assistant Manufacturing Engineer, and at Marine Corps Recruiting as an Infantry Rifle Squad Leader. With their diverse experience and expertise, James has demonstrated a strong ability to manage and oversee HVAC&R systems in various industries.

James M. O'Brien, PE, PMP has a strong educational background in mechanical engineering and fluid systems. James M. earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University in the years 1998 to 2001. Additionally, they hold a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Fluid Systems from National Cheng Kung University, which they completed in the year 2009.

Outside of their engineering studies, James M. O'Brien has also obtained a Certificate in Traditional Mandarin Chinese (中文) from Wenzao Ursuline College of Languages.

Furthermore, James M. O'Brien has obtained two additional certifications related to their profession. In June 2018, they earned the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from Maryland DLLR.
