Karen Nyawera

Karen Nyawera has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Karen currently works at Trillium Asset Management, where they started as an Investment Associate in November 2020 and moved on to become a Research Analyst in January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Applied Derivative Research as a Senior Associate from July to October 2020. In 2019, Karen had two internships, one as an Investment Professional at Terra Nova Capital | Evli Group and another as an Investments Summer Associate at Africa Finance Corporation. Karen also gained experience as a Research Analyst Intern at 337 Frontier Capital in 2018. Before transitioning into the finance industry, Karen worked as a Senior Consultant at Deloitte from 2014 to 2018. Karen also had consultancy roles at The World Bank and Oliver Wyman in 2013 and 2011, respectively. Karen's work experience began with an internship in education at OneVillage Partners in 2009.

Karen Nyawera completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Harvard Business School in 2020. Prior to this, they pursued a Master's degree in Management Studies from Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business from 2013 to 2014.

In 2007, Karen obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics from Amherst College, where they studied from 2007 to 2011.

During their undergraduate studies, in 2010, Karen participated in a semester study abroad program at the University of Cape Town, with a focus on International/Global Studies.

Before attending university, Karen completed their Cambridge International Advanced Level at Arundel School from 2005 to 2006, with a major in Mathematics, Accounting, Biology, and Chemistry.

In addition to their academic achievements, Karen Nyawera obtained a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute in November 2022.
