Thanos Karantjias

Thanos Karantjias has over 20 years of experience in various roles and companies related to technology and security. Thanos began their career in 2000 as a Senior Security Researcher at the National Technical University of Athens. Thanos then worked as a Security, Software & Systems Engineer at GNT Information Systems SA, Intrasoft International, and Intracom Telecom. In 2003, they joined Expertnet S.A. as a Senior Security, Software & Systems Engineer. Later, in 2008, they joined SingularLogic as an Information Security Officer, where they were responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organizational security policy, as well as managing risk and incident response. Thanos also held the role of Cloud and Mobile Integration Unit Manager and Principal Solution Architect at SingularLogic. In 2012, they became an Independent Expert at the European Commission. Their most recent role is as the Chief Technology Officer at Triparound, which they started in December 2019. Throughout their career, Thanos Karantjias has gained expertise in security research, software and systems engineering, information security, and technology management.

Thanos Karantjias holds a PhD in Security in Wired and Wireless Telecommunications from the National Technical University of Athens, which they pursued from 2000 to 2005. Before that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, which they attended from 1994 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Thanos Karantjias has obtained certification as an ISMS Auditor / Lead Auditor from ISOQAR - IRCA in April 2011.
