Steven Smerz has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Steven is currently the Chief Technology Officer at triValence since January 2022. Under their leadership, over 3,500 hospitals were connected to the company's platform.

Prior to ABILITY, Steven served as the CIO and VP of Information Systems at Definity Health from 2001 to 2004. Steven managed a team of technology professionals and deployed information technology assets for consumer-driven healthcare. Steven played a key role in the successful deployment of one of the fastest-growing health plans in history, introducing concepts such as HRAs and HSAs.

Starting from 1998, Steven was the CTO and VP of Product Development at Stratyc. In this role, they led the supply chain optimization application service provider to profitability after spinning the company out of H.B. Fuller.

Throughout their career, Steven Smerz has demonstrated expertise in technology leadership, software development, healthcare information exchange, and driving innovation in the healthcare industry.
