David Caplan has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. David has held positions in various industries, including automotive, technology, and energy.
Starting in 1983, Caplan worked for Ford Motor Company as a Public Affairs Manager. David served as the senior company spokesperson and managed employee, corporate, regional, and international communications.
From 1997 to 2000, Caplan worked for IBM as a Communications Manager. David advised senior management on marketing and communication strategies to position IBM as the world's largest IT service provider. David also served as the primary spokesperson and built relationships with major media outlets.
Caplan then joined Corning Incorporated as a Director of Corporate Communications from 2000 to 2002. David led a diverse team in developing a national advertising campaign to transform Corning's image as a global technology leader in high-speed fiber optic communications. David also managed global brand and marketing communications.
In 2002, Caplan briefly worked as the Director of Public Relations for General Motors' R*Works division. David supervised a team of regional public relations and marketing professionals and generated positive media coverage for GM's car and truck brands.
From 2004 to 2014, Caplan was a Communications Manager at Entergy, where they provided strategic communication and change management support to various business units. David developed internal communication and change management plans for employees across multiple states.
Caplan then worked at FMC Corporation as the Communications and Public Affairs Manager for FMC Minerals from 2014 to 2015. David led public affairs, internal communications, media outreach, and community relations programs.
In 2015, Caplan joined Tronox as the Director of Corporate Communications. David directed public affairs and M&A communications during the divestiture of FMC's Alkali Chemical business to Tronox, successfully transitioning over 1,000 employees to the new company.
Currently, Caplan holds the position of Director of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Genesis Alkali, a subsidiary of Genesis Energy, L.P. David played a leading role on the Tronox M&A transition team during the sale of the Alkali Chemical business to Genesis Energy.

David Caplan has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Communication from American University.
