Roy Cohen

Roy Cohen is an experienced backend engineering lead currently working at TROOP, where responsibilities include leading teams and projects focused on meeting planning and travel optimization since January 2022. Prior experience includes a position as a backend engineer and research assistant at the University of Cape Town, where development of tools for Natural Language Processing researchers took place. Roy also served as Deputy Head of Grade 9 Summer Camp for Habonim Dror Southern Africa, overseeing camp activities and administration from November 2018 to December 2020, and as a camp counselor. Additionally, a short internship in penetration testing was completed at F-Secure Consulting in June 2019. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Statistics, both from the University of Cape Town.
