Richard L. Shaw II Jd

Richard L. Shaw, II JD, CPA has extensive work experience in various leadership and financial roles. Richard currently serves as the President & Chief Executive Officer of Tropical Financial Credit Union since May 2022. Prior to this, they were the EVP Chief Operating Officer at the same credit union from December 2020 to April 2022, and the Chief Financial Officer from July 2015 to December 2020.

Previously, Richard held the position of President & Chief Financial Officer at Union Federal Savings Bank from November 2006 to June 2015, and Chief Financial Officer from May 1999 to November 2006. Richard also worked at Spillane Consulting Associates as a Management Consultant from May 1998 to May 1999.

Before that, Richard was the Chief Operating Officer at Thomas Industries, Inc. from May 1997 to October 1997, and the Controller at Morris Graphics, Inc. from April 1996 to April 1997.

Richard started their career as an Attorney at Law at Padgett, Shaw & Associates, P.A. from June 1987 to December 1995. Richard began their professional journey as a Staff Accountant at Deloitte from August 1983 to December 1984.

Richard L. Shaw, II JD, CPA began their education journey by completing their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting at the University of Florida from 1979 to 1983. Afterward, they pursued a degree in Law at the same institution and successfully obtained their Doctor of Law (J.D.) from 1985 to 1987. Richard also obtained additional certifications to further enhance their professional qualifications. In October 1987, they became an Attorney, gaining membership in The Florida Bar. Additionally, in August 1984, they became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
