Following this, from 1997 to 2001, they pursued their medical education at Ponce Health Sciences University, where they obtained their Doctorate in Medicine.
Dr. Irizarry continued their academic journey by pursuing a Master's degree in Medical Management at Tulane University from 2006 to 2008. During this time, their focused field of study was Business Administration and Management, with a specific emphasis on the healthcare industry.
In 2001, Dr. Irizarry received their Doctorate degree in Psychiatry from the University of South Florida. This marked the completion of their formal education in psychiatry, and they began their career as a psychiatrist.
