Dr. Irizarry also served as a U.S. Navy Medical Corps Officer and Lieutenant Commander, fulfilling the role of a battalion surgeon responsible for managing a battalion aid station and providing medical supervision to the Physician Assistant and Hospital Corpsman.

Ricardo has also worked as a Medical Director for the Acute Adolescent Unit at South Texas Health System, focusing on adolescent services and collaborating with the community mental health clinic.

Ricardo Irizarry MD, MMM, LCDR has a diverse education history that spans multiple disciplines. In 1993, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology at the Universidad de Puerto Rico. Following this, from 1997 to 2001, they pursued their medical education at Ponce Health Sciences University, where they obtained their Doctorate in Medicine.

Dr. Irizarry continued their academic journey by pursuing a Master's degree in Medical Management at Tulane University from 2006 to 2008. During this time, their focused field of study was Business Administration and Management, with a specific emphasis on the healthcare industry.

In 2001, Dr. Irizarry received their Doctorate degree in Psychiatry from the University of South Florida. This marked the completion of their formal education in psychiatry, and they began their career as a psychiatrist.

Driven by their passion for continuous learning and specialization, Dr. Irizarry pursued further education at the Neuroscience Education Institute from 2015 to 2017. During this period, they obtained a Master's degree in Psychopharmacology, deepening their expertise in the effects of medications on the brain.

In addition to their substantial educational background, Dr. Irizarry has also obtained several certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. In 2005, they became Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc.
