Beng Weng Huat Ong S.g.i.e.m., Aifiree (Hons)

Weng Huat Ong has a diverse range of work experience in the field of project development and engineering, with a focus on M&E services and ESG initiatives. Weng Huat is currently serving as the Deputy General Manager at Tropicana Corporation Berhad, where they are responsible for planning, tendering, managing, and implementing M&E services and ESG initiatives for projects in the Southern Region of Malaysia.

Prior to their current role, Weng Huat Ong worked at Shang Properties, Inc. as a Senior MEPF Manager and MEPF Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for overseeing MEPF-related items for new projects and renovation projects. Their scope of work included conceptual design, detailed drawings development, tendering, project execution, commissioning, turn-over, and post-contract processes.

Before their time at Shang Properties, Weng Huat Ong worked at Muhibbah Engineering (M) BHD. as an M&E Engineer. During their tenure, they played a key role in the development of the CP21 Catering Facility at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar. Weng Huat demonstrated their leadership skills by serving as the Acting Planning Manager and Floor Operation Coordinator, ensuring timely project delivery.

Weng Huat Ong also gained valuable experience as an Undergraduate Intern at Sunway Construction Group Berhad. During this time, they worked on government administrative office complex projects in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

Weng Huat Ong pursued their Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from Multimedia University from 2006 to 2010. Weng Huat obtained the degree of Graduate Engineer from the Board of Engineers Malaysia in December 2010. Additionally, in July 2018, they became an Associate Member of The Institution of Fire Engineers. In May 2022, they obtained the certification of Graduate Technologists in Building & Construction Technology from the Malaysia Board of Technologists. Most recently, in March 2023, they achieved the title of Senior Graduate from The Institution of Engineers Malaysia.
