Annemarie van Niekerk

Annemarie Van Niekerk is an accomplished book reviewer at Trouw since 2004, specializing in literature related to Africa, immigration, and identity. With a long-standing affiliation as a member of The South African Academy of Science and Art since 2000, Annemarie also held the position of Senior Editor at Kwela Books from 2003 to 2004. Prior roles include serving as a Research Associate at The South African Research Foundation from 2000 to 2001 and as a lecturer for both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Vista University from 1990 to 2001 and at the University of Transkei from 1986 to 1990. Annemarie holds a PhD in Literature from the University of the Witwatersrand and completed secondary education at Framesby High School from 1976 to 1980.
