Shaun McMichael

Shaun McMichael is an experienced educator and critic with a diverse professional background. Currently serving as a full-time ELL Instructor at Evergreen High School, Shaun specializes in teaching both newcomer and advanced English language learners. Shaun has also worked as a Book Reviewer and Film Critic for PopMatters since 2019, where critical reviews of literature and films are composed and published. Previous experiences include roles as a Substitute Teacher for Seattle Public Schools, Program Manager for Pongo Poetry Project, and Full-Time ELL Instructor at Federal Way Public Schools. Additionally, Shaun has held positions at Seattle Goodwill Industries, Catholic Community Services, and has mentored youth through Pongo Teen Writing. Shaun holds a Master's degree in Teaching from Seattle Pacific University, a Certificate in Teaching ESL, and a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and Psychology.
