Tru Earth
Do you clean your clothes? We're guessing you answered yes. If not, we're happy to be meeting you at a distance. Now, would you change your laundry detergent if you found something that worked as well, cost the same and was as convenient as what you're using now but was better for the planet? Tru Earth was born because the majority of you just answered yes. Ryan McKenzie, Brad Liski and Kevin Hinton all have one thing in common – an unhealthy appreciation for unicorns. Okay, they have two things in common: they are also parents and want to leave the earth a better place for their kids. Technically that's three things but let's stay on target. As the Founders of Tru Earth, Ryan, Brad and Kevin are just like the rest of us – they want to make healthier choices for the environment, yet they realize convenience is key. But when Ryan found himself watching one kid show in particular (yes with his kids, although we don't blame you for asking) and saw the endless parade of plastic packaging they were seemingly promoting, he thought, "this is insane!". So when the group uncovered a laundry detergent alternative that was supposed to be just as good, just as convenient and just as affordable as standard options, they said exactly what you would say – NO WAY! But then they tried it, and it worked. So they asked other people to ty it, and it worked. Then they asked 150 people to pay for a subscription order, and 1,500 people said "yes." Within twelve months, Tru Earth was serving 60,000 people in 40 countries, and the planet continues to be better for it. Today, Tru Earth is growing by leaps and bounds (not unlike how a unicorn jumps) because our products work, and they're an easy way to treat our planet better. Are we perfect? No, only unicorns are perfect… okay, too far. But we believe this is one simple thing we can do for the earth and our kids, and we hope you will too.
