Dr. Tarek Turk

Dr. Tarek Turk has an extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Dr. Tarek is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at TruDoc since March 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Research Coordinator at the University of Alberta starting from July 2020. From December 2018, Dr. Turk served as a Medical Director at Medicus AI. Dr. Tarek also co-founded iEducate in April 2019, a startup that aimed to improve networking among academics in Syria. Dr. Turk sold their shares in April 2020. Before that, they worked as a Referee at Cochrane Wounds Group and as an Author and Referee at Cochrane Schizophrenia Group from September 2015 to January 2020. Dr. Tarek also served as a Temporary Advisor at the World Health Organization from August 2018 to December 2019. Additionally, Dr. Turk worked as a Scientific Researcher at the National Leishmaniasis Center for Biological Studies from September 2017 to December 2019. Dr. Tarek'sresearch focused on experimenting with DNA-based vaccination and investigating the effect of statins on Leishmanial parasites. Lastly, Dr. Turk worked as a Project Manager and Lecturer at ahya SY from January 2013 to September 2016.

Dr. Tarek Turk holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the University of Alberta and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Damascus University.
