Stephen Minne

Stephen C. Minne joined True Digital Surgery (TDS) in 2019 as its first Vice President, Engineering and Innovation. An accomplished engineer and researcher, Minne received a Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1996, under the Leland T. Edwards fellowship, with a thesis on increasing the throughput of the atomic force microscope (AFM). After graduating, Dr. Minne remained at Stanford University as a Consulting Professor.

In 1998 he founded NanoDevices Inc. and served as President until it was sold to Veeco Instruments (NASDAQ: VECO) in 2003. NanoDevices developed and innovated technology for the AFM. Following the acquisition, Dr. Minne became General Manager of the newly formed division – Veeco Probes. Also in 2003, Dr. Minne co-founded FirstNano Inc., a company dedicated to producing turnkey solutions for nanotube and nanowire research. In 2005, FirstNano was sold to CVD Corporation (AMEX: CVV). In 2010 Bruker acquired Veeco, and at Bruker, Dr. Minne served in a number of technical roles, and ultimately as the Vice President and General Manager of the AFM and Fluorescence Microscopy business units.
