Christian D. Klose

Christian D. Klose, PhD, currently serves as the Director of Climate Risk at Assured Guaranty since December 2022 and has been an Advisor at True Flood Risk since May 2020. Additionally, Klose has been an Adjunct Faculty member at Columbia University School of Professional Studies since April 2018, teaching graduate-level courses in the Masters of Science in Applied Analytics program and contributing to a World Bank report on Responsible AI. Previously, Klose held the position of Vice President at Swiss Re from September 2015 to November 2022 and was the Managing Director at Think Geohazards, Inc. from September 2009 to December 2015, focusing on data analytics and risk assessment regarding natural hazards. Klose also worked as a Lead Data Scientist at MetLife and conducted research at Columbia University as a Post-Doc. Early consulting experience includes risk assessment projects at Chevron. Klose holds a PhD in Computational Earth Science from ETH Zürich and a Master’s Degree in Geological and Earth Sciences from Technische Universität Berlin.
