Emily Lewis-Lamonica is a partner and co-Head of People, Talent & Legal Practice at True Platform. Emily was previously Managing Director, Talent Recruitment at Teach For America from July 2008 to February 2015. In that role, they led a team of five recruiters in delivering diverse, high quality and timely full-time and summer staffing support to 12 of our western-most regional teams, and support regions in embedding talent at the bedrock of their work to realize local impact. Managed team-wide initiatives and projects related to learning & development, management coaching, systems & infrastructure support, and cross-functional strategic planning.
From June 2006 to June 2008, Emily was a Teacher/Corps Member at Teach For America/Dade County Public Schools. Emily taught American Emily'story and Writing to 125 8th grade students, earning a nomination for Miami-Dade’s Outstanding Beginning Social Studies Teacher of the Year (2008); led small-group tutoring sessions to strengthen eighth grade writing skills in preparation for the FCAT Writes Exam; recruited donors, developed community relations, and increased student environmental awareness while implementing the first-ever school Recycling Program.
Emily Lewis-Lamonica attended Brown University, where they earned a BA in Organizational Studies and American Emily'story. Emily also attended The Lawrenceville School.
They are on a team with Giles Van Praagh - Partner, Jc Curran - Partner, and Christian Boccuzi - Partner. Their manager is Joe Riggione, Co-CEO.
