Gregory Shea has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries and roles.
Gregory started their career in 1990 at Global Affairs Canada, where they served as a First Secretary and later as a Second Secretary. During their time there, they worked on projects related to environment relations, science and technology relations, and public relations.
In 1997, Shea joined HP and held multiple roles including AP Regional Marcom Manager and Director of Government Relations and Corporate Communications for China.
Gregory then moved on to Agilent Technologies in 1999, where they served as the Director of Government Relations for Asia.
Shea joined Sun Microsystems in 2004 as the Regional Director of Government Industry Sales.
From 2005 to 2008, they worked at the United States Information Technology Office (USITO) as the President and MD. USITO serves as a strategic policy and industry bridge between the US and China ICT industries.
In 2008, Shea took on a leadership role at BlackBerry/RIM, where they served as the President for China and the AP Vice President of Government Relations.
Gregory then joined FIPRA Public Affairs in 2002 as a Special Advisor, providing policy and regulatory engagement services for clients.
In 2012, Shea became a Partner at BYG Advantage, a leader in tech industry outsourced business development. Gregory later became a Founding Partner at the same company.
In 2016, Shea joined Yang Brothers as a Partner, focusing on technology services, management consulting, and investment advisory in Greater China and emerging markets.
Most recently, in 2020, Shea joined Trustonic as the Principal for APAC and Africa Business Development, specializing in big data platforms.
Throughout their career, Shea has demonstrated expertise in areas such as government relations, business development, policy dynamics, and strategic advisory.
Gregory Shea pursued their education in a chronological manner, beginning in 1979 at Western University. There, they earned an Honors Bachelor of Science (Hons BSc) degree with a focus on Chemistry and Geology. Following this, from 1984 to 1987, they attended The University of British Columbia. At UBC, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree specializing in Oceanography with a specific focus on Marine Geology and Chemistry. In 1986, within the same period, Gregory Shea also attained a Teacher's Certificate from The University of British Columbia, specializing in Highschool Science Education.
