Barbara Schillo has an extensive work experience history. Barbara is currently the Chief Research Officer (CRO) at Truth Initiative, where they started in April 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Senior Vice President from January 2021 to April 2023 and as Vice President from December 2018 to December 2020. Barbara also held the position of Chair of the Board of Directors at NORTH AMERICAN QUITLINE CONSORTIUM from August 2018 to August 2020.
Before joining Truth Initiative, Barbara worked at ClearWay Minnesota for a significant period of time. Barbara held various roles at the organization, including Vice President from November 2008 to November 2018 and Director of Research Programs from 2001 to 2008.
Additionally, Barbara worked at Metropolitan State University as a Community Faculty in the Department of Psychology from 2004 to 2010. Prior to this, they served as the Research Director at the Council on Crime and Justice in 2000.
Barbara began their career at Michigan Public Health Institute, where they worked as a Senior Program Director from 1998 to 2000 and as a Research Scientist from 1996 to 1998.
Barbara Schillo holds a Ph.D. in Community Psychology from Michigan State University, which they completed in 1996. Prior to their Ph.D., they pursued a Master's degree in Community Psychology from the same institution, completing it in 1991. Before attending Michigan State University, Barbara earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1988.
