Jerrod Montoya, JD, CIPP/US has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jerrod currently serves as the Principal Security Consultant & General Counsel for Truvantis, Inc. since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Think Tank Member for the 12th annual Cyber Security Summit in Minneapolis from 2014 to 2022. Jerrod was also an Attorney for the Montoya Law Office, PLC from 2021 to 2022. From 2012 to 2021, they held two roles at OATI, as Deputy Chief Information Security Officer/ Director and Security and Compliance Counsel/Project Manager. Jerrod was also the Past-President of the InfraGard Minnesota Members Alliance from 2012 to 2021. From 2016 to 2021, they were an Adjunct Professor at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Law School from 2015 to 2021. From 2008 to 2010, they were a Law Clerk at the Hennepin County Public Defender and the Law Office of John Hughes, respectively. Additionally, they were an Intern Law Clerk at the Fourth Judicial District Court, Judge McShane from 2009 to 2010.

Jerrod Montoya, JD, CIPP/US obtained their Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US) certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in September 2022. Jerrod earned a Master of Science in Security Technologies from the University of Minnesota in 2012. Jerrod also obtained a Juris Doctor and Certificate in Advocacy and Problem Solving from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law in 2011. Jerrod obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance from the University of Minnesota in 2007. Jerrod obtained an Associate of Arts from Inver Hills Community College in 2005.
