Rakesh Didwania

Rakesh Didwania has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Rakesh currently holds the role of Principal Software Developer at Truveta since May 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Veritas Technologies LLC from 2015 to 2021, serving as a Senior Principal Software Engineer. During their tenure, Rakesh designed and implemented a cloud volume snapshots management system, worked on securing sensitive information on NetBackup systems, and developed a prototype for deduplication to reduce data transfer and storage on cloud storage.

Before Veritas Technologies LLC, Rakesh worked at Symantec from 2005 to 2015 as a Senior Principal Software Engineer. Their responsibilities included contributing to the design and implementation of various features in the NetBackup product, such as NDMP cDOT support, Storage Lifecycle Policy (SLP) windows, and Media Server Decommissioning.

Rakesh started their career at Veritas Software in 2000 as a Senior Software Engineer. Rakesh was primarily involved in the Media Manager component of NetBackup, focusing on maintenance, design, implementation, testing, documentation, and providing development support. Rakesh also worked on adding features such as the Physical Inventory Utility.

In 1998, Rakesh worked at Informix Software as a Software Engineer, where they were responsible for maintaining the Informix Database Server (IDS) Kernel on the Sun Solaris Platform. This involved coding, defect analysis and resolution, debugging, testing, and running regression lists.

Rakesh's early career began at ICIL in 1997, where they worked as a Software Engineer. Rakesh developed a translator for the German client Classic Popken to convert a large amount of code from a 4GL language to C. Rakesh also contributed to the Automated Time Sharing System (ATSS) Java team.

Rakesh Didwania obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Production Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, completing their education from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Object-Oriented Design from Coursera in December 2017.
