Karl-Friedrich Becker has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Karl-Friedrich started their career as a PhD student at the University of Tübingen in Germany from 1987 to 1991. After completing their PhD, they worked as a Post-doc at the GSF-Research Center for Environment and Health from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, they joined the Technische Universität München as the Head of the Lab of Experimental Pathology and the Scientific Director of the Tissue Bank, a position they still hold. In the same year, they also became the Head of the Young Researcher Group "Cell Adhesion" at the HelmholtzZentrum München, a role they served until 2001. More recently, in 2012, they became an Expert and Project Leader at CEN and CENELEC. Additionally, in 2014, they took on a similar role at the ISO - International Organization for Standardization.
Karl-Friedrich Becker completed their education with a Diploma in Molecular Biology from The Philipp University of Marburg in 1986. Karl-Friedrich then pursued further study at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the field of Molecular Biology for the academic year 1984-1985. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Tübingen in 1991.
