Marie A. Nava

Marie is a co-organizer of Tucumcari Food Co-Op, a local cooperative formed to enhance accessibility to nutrient-dense food and promote local food production. She is currently serving her 2nd term as President and has been active on their Board of Directors since its inception in 2010.

Marie has been a homeschool teacher for 19 years and is currently teaching grades 1 & 11. She is finely practiced at researching, planning, and coordinating schedules and curriculum content for multiple grade levels. While a resident of Longmont, Colorado she co-organized Longmont Home School Co-Op, a support group for homeschoolers in the area. Therein she coordinated field trips and events for small and large groups. She acted as a steering committee, facilitator, treasurer, and publisher of the monthly newsletter.

Manager of her family-run farm, Nava Ranch, she is well versed in pasture management, animal husbandry, record keeping, and financial management. She is an enthusiastic organizer and passionate about family, nutrient-dense food, sustainable agriculture, and vital health.
