James Shank

James Shank serves as the System Director of Talent & Performance Management at Tufts Medicine, managing talent, performance, onboarding, and learning initiatives for over 13,000 employees across nine hospitals and entities. Previously, James held the position of AVP of Talent, Learning and Performance at MassMutual, where responsibilities included leading performance reviews and talent development for the US Insurance Product business unit. James has also served as the Talent Practices Delivery Lead at Liberty Mutual Insurance, achieving results in enhancing gender diversity at the senior leadership level and launching a global job leveling pilot. Earlier career roles included marketing and communications management at Fox Television and NBC News, where James contributed to creative development and strategic communication initiatives. James holds an MBA from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University and a BA in Communications from Mercer University.
