Ricky Chien has considerable experience in analysis and simulation engineering. Ricky worked as a Staff Analysis and Simulation Engineer at Tula Technology Inc. from 2010 until present, where they designed, developed, and validated physical simulation models for various sub-systems and components. Ricky led simulation efforts in both proof-of-concept and production validation, contributing to a production project that won the 2019 Automotive News PACE award.
Prior to that, Ricky served as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley from 2005 to 2010. During this time, they gained experience in using Large Eddy Simulation for turbulent jet flame coupling with Monte-Carlo simulation for PDF transport equations. Ricky also worked on turbulence-chemistry interaction under Gas Turbine conditions and developed a reduced mechanism for methane that significantly accelerated combustion simulation.
Ricky Chien earned their PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Ricky attended the university from 2005 to 2010, completing their doctoral studies in that field of study.
