Denise Barrera

Denise Barrera has extensive experience in social work and administrative management within academic and healthcare settings. Currently serving as an Adult Psychiatric Social Worker at River Oaks Hospital, LLC since June 2017, Denise also holds the position of Senior Department Administrator II at Tulane University, where responsibilities include oversight of financial and human resources for the Department of Tropical Medicine since June 1996. Previously, Denise has worked as an Accountant III and Grants and Contracts Analyst, contributing to sponsored project administration and financial management. Denise holds a Master of Social Work from Tulane University, as well as a Master of Public Health in International Health and a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University.
