Dr Clovis Palmer

Dr. Clovis Palmer is a seasoned researcher currently serving as a Visiting Senior Research Scholar at Tulane University since January 2022, focusing on non-human primate models to investigate aging, Long-COVID, and long-term remission off HIV ART. Prior to this role, Dr. Palmer held positions at the Burnet Institute in Melbourne, Australia, where leadership included serving as Head of the HIV Immunometabolism Laboratory and Group Leader of the Immuno Metabolism Research Group, guiding research on aging, HIV reservoir persistence, and immune responses in chronic infections. Academic experience includes a postdoctoral role at the University of New South Wales, where significant contributions involved developing chromatographic techniques and assays related to immunological responses. Initial academic training was acquired at the University of the West Indies, leading to advanced degrees in Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Biochemistry from the University of Sydney.
