Jamia Brown

Jamia Brown is currently serving as an Undergraduate Admission Counselor at Tulane University since July 2023. Prior experience includes being a Newman Civic Fellow with Campus Compact from March 2022 to July 2023, a Student Archivist at the Newcomb Institute from March 2021 to July 2023, and a Service Learning Assistant and Community Engagement Advocate at the Tulane Center for Public Service from May 2020 to July 2023. Additionally, Jamia has held the position of Youth and Community Engagement Intern with Emerson Collective from June 2022 to August 2022, a Research Assistant at the Tulane University School of Liberal Arts from August 2020 to August 2022, and a Programming and Publicity Assistant at the New Orleans Center for the Gulf South during June 2021 to August 2021. Jamia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Sexuality Studies and Africana Studies from Tulane University, completing the degree in 2023, and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 2019.
