Dr. Richard Kunert has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Dr. Richard began their career as an Intern at the Department of Developmental Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, where they conducted a study on interfering with brain activity. Dr. Richard then worked as an Intern at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour, where they contributed to a research project on the connection between music and language. Dr. Richard also worked as a Junior Policy Officer at NWO, handling project proposals and final project reports.
Dr. Kunert continued their academic pursuits at the International Max Planck Research School on Psycholinguistics, where they worked as an Intern and later as a PhD candidate. Their research focused on the cognitive connection between music and language, utilizing behavioral and brain measures. During this time, they discovered the neural circuitry in syntax-related brain areas that both music and language recruit.
In 2012, Dr. Kunert worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute for Logic, Language, and Computation at the University of Amsterdam. Dr. Richard later joined Muziekgezelschap Ludwig as a Public Speaker, presenting research on music, language, and the brain to a lay audience. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Data Scientist before transitioning to industry roles.
In 2017, Dr. Kunert joined StackFuel GmbH as an Educational Data Scientist, providing training in data science skills. Dr. Richard was later promoted to Lead Data Scientist. Dr. Richard also worked as a Data Scientist at Secret Escapes, where they eventually became a Team Lead Data Science. In their most recent position, they served as the Head of Data Science at Turbit Systems GmbH.

Dr. Richard Kunert obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psycholinguistics from the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) between 2013 and 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Brain & Cognitive Science from the University of Amsterdam from 2010 to 2013. Dr. Kunert began their educational journey at the University of Glasgow, where they received a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Psychology from 2006 to 2010. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Big Data Analytics from Hasso Plattner Institute in January 2018, being among the top 20% of graduates in this field.
