Ronald Vandevoorde worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Turbulent Hydro starting from March 2021. Prior to that, they had a long tenure at Punch Powertrain, where they held various roles. From July 2016 to March 2021, they served as the R&D Mechanical Lead Engineer, responsible for the mechanical design of a wet moving-off clutch and planetary gear set inside a new CVT mild hybrid transmission. Ronald'swork included requirements engineering, concept design, detailed design, calculations and simulations, FMEA, DfA, DfM, procurement, verification, and industrialization support. From January 2016 to January 2017, they worked as an R&D Mechanical Engineer at Punch Powertrain, involved in the mechanical design of wet clutches and planetary gear set within a CVT transmission. Ronald performed tasks such as requirements engineering, concept design, detailed design, calculations and simulations, FMEA, DfA, DfM, procurement, and verification. Ronald's initial role at Punch Powertrain was as an R&D Mechanical Engineer, from January 2015 to December 2015.

Ronald Vandevoorde has a diverse education history. Ronald began their studies at Sint-Jozefscollege Aarschot (SJCA) from 2003 to 2009, where they completed their Algemeen Secundair Onderwijs (General Secondary Education) with a focus on Latijn - Wiskunde (Latin - Mathematics). Following this, they attended KU Leuven from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in Mechanics and a minor in Material Science. Continuing their education at KU Leuven, Ronald pursued a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from 2012 to 2014, specializing in automotive engineering.
