Yuksel Gormez

Yuksel Gormez is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in central banking and financial innovation. Currently serving as an Advisor and Executive Director of Financial Innovation at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye since January 2021, Yuksel previously held senior economist roles both at the Central Bank of Türkiye and the Istanbul School of Central Banking. Notably, Yuksel was the first representative of the Central Bank of Türkiye in China as an Economic Counsellor, focusing on the transformation of the Chinese economy and its implications for global financial architecture. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Economics from City, University of London, an MBA from the University of Exeter, and a BA in Economics from Middle East Technical University.
