Shona Straiton serves as the National Training and Development Manager at Turning Point Scotland since June 2018, leading a team focused on training and development for social care professionals. Alongside this role, Shona has been a Domestic Abuse Matters Trainer with SafeLives since October 2018, training frontline police officers in the application of the Domestic Abuse Scotland Act. Shona's extensive experience in suicide prevention includes serving as a trainer and coordinator for LivingWorks Education and Choose Life Scotland, with roles at Community Safety Glasgow and SAMH, including management positions focused on domestic abuse advocacy and community support networks. Shona's career began with a background in training administration at NHS Health Scotland, complemented by a BA Hons degree in Psychology and Human Resource Management from the University of Strathclyde.
