Kurby Brown Jr

Kurby Brown Jr has over 23 years of experience in various roles related to information security. Most recently, they worked at Turnitin as the Sr. Director of Security & Compliance. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Information Security at Sourcepoint, where they established and managed a global Information Security program. Kurby also held roles at iCIMS, where they managed Information Security teams and led incident response investigations, and at McGraw-Hill Education as a Senior Security Architect. Earlier in their career, they worked at AIG as a Manager Network Security and at Household Finance / HSBC as a Security Engineer. Kurby started their career at Telcordia Technologies as a Unix Administrator.

Kurby Brown Jr holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Computer Science from Morgan State University, which they obtained between 1993 and 1997. Kurby later pursued a Master of Science (M.S) degree in Information Assurance from Norwich University, completing it from 2003 to 2005. Kurby has also obtained several additional certifications, including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in 2015 and (ISC)2 Security CISSP (ISC2-CISSP) from (ISC)² in 2003. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications in areas such as executive leadership, data privacy, strategic thinking, and facilitation skills from institutions such as LinkedIn, the IAPP-International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Wharton School, and the SANS Institute.
