Founded in 1943 as Allen County Society for Crippled Children, Turnstone has been meeting the needs of children and adults with physical disabilities for the past 68 years. The agency is excited to offer a variety of programs and services to the residents of northeast Indiana and further.  It is our mission to 'enhance the lives of all persons with physical disabilities and their families'​.

The Health and Fitness Team at Turnstone Center is dedicated to designing and implementing comprehensive fitness programs tailored to individuals with physical disabilities. The team includes professionals such as the Manager of Therapy, Fitness Specialists, and Physical Therapists who collaboratively work to enhance physical well-being, provide personalized exercise plans, facilitate rehabilitation, and support overall health goals for clients. Through their expertise and compassionate approach, they empower clients to achieve greater independence and quality of life.

Health and Fitness Team

The Support and Coordination Team at Turnstone Center plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations and exceptional service delivery. The EHR Schedule Specialist manages electronic health records and appointment scheduling. The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the leadership team. The Event Specialist organizes and coordinates events to raise awareness and funds. The Front Desk Staff handles initial client interactions and administrative tasks. The Technology Support & Volunteer Coordinator manages IT needs and coordinates volunteer activities, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to enhance the lives of people with physical disabilities.

The Development and Fundraising team at Turnstone Center is responsible for securing financial support to sustain and grow the organization's mission of empowering people with disabilities. This team engages in strategic donor cultivation and stewardship, manages fundraising campaigns and events, and forms valuable partnerships to generate major gifts and donations. Their efforts ensure the continuous enhancement and expansion of Turnstone's programs and services for individuals with physical disabilities.

Development and Fundraising

The Leadership Team at Turnstone Center is responsible for guiding the organization’s strategic direction and ensuring alignment with its mission to empower people with disabilities. Comprising the Chief of Development & Strategic Partnerships, CEO, and Chief Marketing Technology Officer, the team oversees fundraising, organizational growth, marketing initiatives, and the integration of technology to enhance program delivery and outreach. They play a crucial role in driving inclusion, diversity, and equitable access to services for all individuals with physical disabilities.

The Recreation and Engagement Team at Turnstone Center is dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with physical disabilities by developing and managing a variety of sports, recreational activities, and competitive events.
