Duane Klein has a diverse range of work experience in various roles within the automation and technology industry. Duane started their career at Automatic Switch Company as an OEM Account Coordinator and also served as the department PC administrator. Duane then worked at Honeywell as an HVAC Systems Engineer, where they reviewed and analyzed HVAC projects and provided support and training on office automation hardware and software. Later, they joined Kvaerner Process as a Control Systems Engineer, focusing on projects in the biopharmaceutical industry. At this role, they programmed Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and designed and configured networks for communication between PLCs and HMIs. Duane then moved to Rockwell Automation, where they worked as an Outside Consultant, providing information and assistance to customers regarding various automation products, including programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and networking solutions. Currently, they are employed at Turtle as the Manager of Automation Technology, where they oversee automation software products and provides training and support to sales teams. Duane also conducts software seminars and hands-on-training sessions for customers.

Duane Klein began their education at Calvin University in 1977 and completed their studies in 1980. Although the degree they obtained during this time is not specified, it can be inferred that their field of study was in Engineering. Subsequently, from 1982 to 1987, Duane attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial Engineering.
