Michael Hurlbert currently serves as the Executive Director of Development at Tuskegee University since June 2025. Previously, Michael held various leadership roles at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund from January 2018 to May 2025, including Associate Vice President for Major Gifts and Planned Giving, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, and Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving. Michael's experience also includes serving as a Financial Representative at Modern Woodmen of America from September 2015 to July 2024 and as Vice President at First Bank (FBNC) from January 2003 to June 2014. Additional roles include Director of Development at Scouting America, Borough Scout Executive for Scouting America Greater New York Councils, and Senior Finance Director for Scouting America National Capital Area Council. Michael earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication from North Carolina State University and graduated from South Mecklenburg High School.
