Nico Nijenhuis

Nico Nijenhuis is a highly experienced professional specializing in data protection, privacy, and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as TIC Manager for AI and Privacy at TÜV NORD CERT, and as Schema Coordinator AI and Scheme Coordinator Privacy at TÜV NORD Nederland, Nico brings extensive expertise in testing, inspection, and certification management. In addition, Nico contributes as an ethics expert appointed by the European Commission, assisting with project evaluations and policy design. Further involvement includes co-founding ENIPO, an independent network of certified data protection officers, and operating Privius, an organization dedicated to aiding compliance with data protection laws. Nico’s background also includes prior leadership roles in data protection at Info Support and various educational accomplishments in privacy, cybersecurity, and business management. Currently pursuing a Master of Laws in Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Management at Maastricht University, Nico remains at the forefront of the evolving landscape of data protection and ethics.
