Sébastien Brochet

Deputy Chief Data Officer at Nielsen | TVTY

Sébastien Brochet has worked as a Deputy Chief Data Officer at TVTY since January 2020. Prior to that, they were a Data Scientist at Holimetrix (by D-Bi) starting in September 2017. Before their industry roles, they served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Université catholique de Louvain from March 2015 to September 2017. Sébastien obtained a doctorate in Particle Physics from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, where they conducted research on physics beyond the Standard Model and calibration of jet energy scales with the CMS experiment at the LHC. This involved the extraction of jet energy scale corrections using various methods, particularly focusing on the use of photon+jets events. These corrections are crucial for physics analyses using jets and are widely adopted by the collaboration.

Sébastien Brochet's education history begins with a Bachelor's degree in Physics-Chemistry from Université de Franche-Comté, which they obtained from 2005 to 2009. Sébastien then pursued further education at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, where they obtained a Master's degree in Elementary Particle Physics from 2009 to 2011.
